Obituary: Attrude Elizabeth Bennett

Attrude Elizabeth Bennett, age 86 years, a lifelong Isle La Motte resident died early Monday morning, April 25, 2016, in the Northwestern Medical Center with loving family at her side.

Born in Isle La Motte on, August 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Melissa (Patnode) Dubuque. She graduated from the former Alburgh High School and on, December 23, 1950, was married to Albert Frank Bennett who predeceased her on, February 14, 2004.

For several years Attrude was the head cook for General Electric in Burlington and St. Anne’s Shrine in Isle La Motte. In earlier years she drove her own school bus throughout the town. She enjoyed watching the birds, Christmas shopping and going for rides with her husband Albert.

Attrude leaves her daughter, Karen Gleich and husband John of Isle La Motte; four sons, Alan of Punta Gorda, FL, Richard of Isle La Motte, Kirk and Robin of Alburgh and Roger and Cynthia of Isle La Motte; grandchildren, Shawn and Carletta, Jeffrey, Sarah and Toby, Rebecca and Tom, Laura and Nathan, Danielle, Matthew, Michael and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Colin and Emily, Keegan, Addy, Frankie and Maggie, Zachary, Emma and Byrnn, Aubrey and Isabel and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Albert, Attrude was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lillyanna Miller.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Mission, Main St., Isle La Motte. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Dubuque / Bennett family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
