Rochester, N.Y., indie-pop band Tart Vandelay take their name from “Seinfeld” — it’s a play on George Costanza’s alter ego, Art Vandelay. Members Katie Halligan and Martin LoFaso started making music together after dating for several years. Their 2016 EP, Frontier Pioneer, shows the breadth of their pop propensities. There’s the fractured, groovy “Alien,” the loopy, gospel-inspired “Spin” and the fluxing, jubilant “High Life.” They recently added two members, Stephen Petoniak and Christopher Dubuc-Penney, ramping up their live act to lofty sonic heights. Catch Tart Vandelay on Saturday, April 15, at the Light Club Lamp Shop in Burlington.
