Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival producer Lloyd Komesar has high hopes for the festival’s first-ever statewide tour. “By presenting our award winners across a wide swath of Vermont, MNFF hopes to reach new audiences around our home state,” he says in a press release for upcoming screenings of some of 2017’s top flicks. Movie lovers have several chances to marvel at Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story, a documentary about the 1930s and ’40s starlet who was both actress and groundbreaking inventor. Also showing is The Peacemaker, a hard-hitting documentary about Padraig O’Malley, an international mediator who faces global and personal challenges. Visit the event websites for information on filmmaker receptions and screenings of the short doc “An Autobiography.”
