Malpaso Dance Company

When: Thu., Jan. 11, 7 p.m. and Fri., Jan. 12, 8 p.m. 2018

Thanks to a weeklong residency at Dartmouth College, Havana meets Hanover, N.H., in the form of the Malpaso Dance Company. As part of its stay, the Cuban-based company showcases three works by international choreographers during performances on Thursday and Friday. Led by artistic director Osnel Delgado, 11 touring dancers bring ballet and contemporary dance training to the stage in commissioned pieces by American Ronald K. Brown, Canadian Aszure Barton and Delgado, who is also the group’s resident choreographer. A discussion with the artists follows each of these passionate displays of forward-thinking contemporary dance.

Price: $13-40.
