Low Cut Connie, The High Breaks

When: Sun., Dec. 31, 9 p.m. 2017

Philadelphia rockers Low Cut Connie haul their signature upright piano with them to every gig they play — except overseas. Her name is Shondra, by the way. Though she’s always prominently staged, the band’s flamboyant front man, Adam Weiner, will demand most of your attention. Like a sexier version of Arthur Fonzarelli, Weiner hip-thrusts his way into the hearts of onlookers with wacky stage antics and spastic ivory tickling. The group’s brand of piano rock will garner comparisons to the works of Elton John, but that’s OK. The Rocket Man himself gave LCC his seal of approval during a recent installment of his Beats 1 radio program. The band closes out the year on Sunday, December 31, at ArtsRiot in Burlington. Local surf-rockers the High Breaks open.

Price: $32/35
