If Burlington and surrounds have seemed just a bit cooler of late, it’s because of indie music promoters like Angioplasty Media. The little booking collective that could is responsible for bringing a staggering number of underground acts through the area, vastly upping the Queen City’s indie cred.
SEVEN DAYS: You have the chance to book Bon Iver, solo, at the Monkey House. The show will be incredible and help fund future shows for months, if not years, to come. But there is a clause in the rider that states you also have to find a place for Color Me Badd to play, and find them local support. One, do you do it? And two, where do book CMB, and with whom?
NICK MAVODONES: Definitely. We would 100 percent take on the challenge of putting on both Bon Iver and Color Me Badd. Bon Iver would hit up the Monkey House — slay it. Fund us for years to come. Color Me Badd would have to be at Metro Hair salon on Pearl Street. Opening set by Lawrence Welks & Our Bear to Cross. Crowds would spill out into the streets. Nakedness and psalms all around.
