2/19/11: Farm & Wilderness was founded in 1939 and promotes hard work, Quaker values and a connection to nature. For more than 40 years, it has welcomed campers and their parents for an Annual Ice Cutting Weekend.
After hiking 1.5 miles through deep snow, visitors use a human-powered pulley system to haul large blocks of ice up a hill. The goal is to fully stock the ice house at Flying Cloud, an off-the-grid summer camp teaching boys the joys of simple living.
Music: Greg Davis, Curling Pond Woods, "Curling Pond Woods"
