Home away from home...
I love Stone Soup! I can always count on having wonderful food, prepared the way I cook at home. They always have a great selection, & you can fix a plate with tastes of whatever you want, without having to make all those dishes yourself. Plus, it always smells good and the atmosphere is cozy & friendly! Food: 5 Ambiance: 4 Service: 5

Food that leaves you feeling good
There is a lot of choices out there that taste good, but Stone Soup food also leaves you feeling good. I have eaten here several times and never had a bad experience. The setup is buffet style but at the same time there is a feeling of classiness about it. It is a good place to take a date, especially a first date where you want casual and classy at the same time. Also...don't miss the hummus in the salad bar section, its the best. Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5

The Best Lunch in Town
It's no surprise to me that Stone Soup has won "Best Vegetarian Fare" and "Best Place to Do Lunch" for 5 years in a row. It is a local treasure. I eat lunch here just about everyday and still find the food inventive, nutritious and delicious. My favorite all time hot food dish is the Jerk Tempe with fried plantains. unlike other comments I do not think it is overpriced; I can get a main-course, salad, wine and desert for under $20- where else??. The staff is devoted and attentive and the owners are the quintessential eccentric & talented business people that make downtown Burlington the unique place it is. Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5

pretty good
food's pretty good, there's a lot to choose from and it always seems to be interesting, creative, and fresh; however, it's a little over-priced. Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 4

Lasagna!
Try the lasagna. Great place to relax at any time and has wonderfully displayed and good tasting desserts (try the pumpkin bar). Also a fantastic veggie reuben and an amazing hot bar. Wonderful ceilings, too. Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5

So, So Good.
I love this place. Great food, atmosphere, and service. I took my hippie boyfriend here when we were first dating, and I think he fell in love with me over lunch, and his tofu. I forgot they don't take credit cards, and the cashier let me eat my hot food, and return later to pay for it! Now how cool is that! Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5

Great soups, sandwiches, sweets!
Their homemade bread is worth the trip alone. They also always have several types of soup-- and you can try before you buy, if you are not so adventurous. Very vegetarian/vegan friendly. Their sweets are always very tempting-- and seem most plentiful on the weekends. The buffet seems a bit pricey. Food: 5 Ambiance: 4 Service: 5

I can never go wrong with the soups
Fighting a cold, stone soup supplied me with two amazing soups to go last night. Even better, an amazing seitan stew. Hearty, vegetarian happiness. When I got home my husband and I soaked up the stew and soups with your amazing bread. Goodbye cold, hello warm soothing nourishment:) Food: 4 Ambiance: 5 Service: 4

Very Vegetarian Friendly
I always stop into stone soup for vegetarian food. I usually get half a hummus and veggie sandwich paired with a soup. Their best soup is cheddar and broccoli but I have not seen it on the menu in about a year or two. I think that they make all of their own bread which is very tasty. Sometimes the place can get very crowded and it is hard to find a place to sit. Don't forget to bring cash because they do not except debit cards/checks. Food: 5 Ambiance: 4 Service: 4
