"Sort of shockingly tops it"... agreed. This was a joy to watch, incredibly beautiful and provocative. The characters were familiar without being predictable. Every time I thought it was going to turn a Hollywood corner, it veered delightfully. What makes it different from La Dolce Vita is, I think, its humor and its ability to swerve into the surreal without becoming nightmarish.
